We love Shopify. If you’re reading this, then you likely have a Shopify store or are contemplating having one in the future. While Shopify works wonderfully and has all the features you need right from the get-go, one of its greatest features is the App Store. Whether you’re looking for a very specific app to integrate or researching some of the best ways to increase sales on your site, the App Store has everything you need – just one click away (the “Add App” does all of the work…).

Here are five simple, easy-to-use apps that are completely free to install in your Shopify app.

SEO Site Audit, Fix SEO Issues Benchmark Hero

This user-friendly analysis tool will compare your store to large stores that generate over $1,000,000 a year. This provides you with scoring benchmarks that you can use to focus your efforts on improving your store. The Benchmarks are broken down into four segments: Business, Marketing, Shopping Experience, and Technical. From there, you can analyze the results and decide which course of action to take.

While the title says, “SEO Site Audit,” it includes many areas that are not traditionally SEO-related, but every improvement to your store can help improve your search rankings!

PushOwl Web Push Notifications

Getting customers to your site is one thing; engaging them and converting them into customers is a whole other story. PushOwl lets you create automated marketing campaigns to entice users and turn them into customers. Using browser “push notifications,” you can send your customers abandoned cart reminders, back-in-stock alerts, notify them of flash sales and more.

When a customer engages with the push notification, PushOwl collects information and uses it to tailor future notifications to that customer. It is a process that ultimately helps build and strengthen brand loyalty.

Customers have to opt-in to the push-notification feature, but the great thing is that they don’t have to disclose any personal information to do so; all that’s required is simply selecting “Allow.” Your customer will then get notifications about the information and deals they want, while you will learn more about their shopping interests and can use what you learn to improve your website.

Product Reviews

Developed by Shopify, this is a very simple, easy to setup app. Simply add the app, and if your theme is set up properly, it will add reviews to each product that allow customers to give a review on a scale of 1-5 stars. This simple visual improvement can not only improve sales of the product but also makes your product pages SEO-friendly so that Google can showcase the product’s score as well.

Improved Contact Form

Contact forms are a great way to get feedback and questions from both current and prospective customers. While Shopify’s contact form is a great option, it offers very little customization without having development knowledge.

The Improve Contact Form allows you to create different types of forms, change form fields and customize the labels, text, and colors – all without needing to code!

If you’re looking to capture more information than just a name, email, and message allowed by the default Shopify contact form, then this app is a great alternative that will get you up and running in minutes. It works with Shopify’s mail system, so there is no need to set up anything new when it comes to sending contact form submissions to your mailbox.

Free Shipping Bar

People LOVE free shipping, and this app is one of the simplest ways to sell more. You just install the app, choose a spending goal for your customers to achieve free shipping, and a Free Shipping Bar will appear to show them how far away they are from earning it. The bar will update as customers add more items to their cart.

That’s it! If you want to offer free shipping, then Free Shipping Bar is a wonderful app to use. It will start enticing customers right away with almost no work on your end.

Wrapping Things Up

Go ahead: Hop on your Shopify site and try some of these apps out! They’re completely free so you’ve got nothing to lose – if you install an app and hate it, then it can be removed just as easily as it was added.

Hopefully, you find this information helpful. If enough people like it, maybe I’ll continue this as a series and compile lists of other helpful apps, themes, and different parts of the Shopify ecosystem.
