What if I tell you there is a way to hit all of your marketing goals while also staying within budget and not being stressed or losing any sleep in the process? My guess is that you would be quite happy with the peace of mind alone, knowing that everything went according to plan. Keyword there: plan. Having a plan or roadmap in place when exercising a marketing campaign ensures that you remain on schedule and accomplish any goals that you have set up along the way.

There are endless reasons why someone may not plan ahead: you may see it as a waste of time, goals can change, or they may just be bad at it. “Many fail because they do not take the time to think ahead and plan for success. Without a plan, you have no roadmap to see which routes can take you from where you are to where you want to be,” states Kamron from the Dream Achievers Academy

Planning ahead for a marketing campaign or event can have the following benefits:

  • Limit Overspending
    • When you don’t have a budget in place, you run a higher risk of being spontaneous with your spending which can result in a lower ROI or depleted cash account when all is said and done. Planning ahead can also ensure that you are not overpaying for any rush production and delivery charges.
  • Allows Room for Last-Minute Items
    • Last-minute surprises are bound to happen with any planning that you do. By sticking with your plan and production schedules, you have a higher chance of being able to add last-minute items as opposed to all of the items for your campaign being rushed at one time.
  • Allows You to Plan for the Worst
    • Mistakes happen. Whether a brochure gets printed with wrong information or a shipment gets lost, if things can go wrong chances are they will. By allotting time with your plan for “trouble,” you will have more time to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Having Peace of Mind
    • Knowing that everything went smoothly the night before your campaign gets launched or your event begins equates to a nice relaxing sleep.

While there are multiples benefits to planning ahead, I always feel that the above yields to some of the most positive results. My next article will dive into the process that I use to plan ahead and stay on schedule!
