A new year, a new you!

As the new year approaches, a fresh look might be just what your brand needs. The world is constantly changing and keeping up with current trends in the industry helps you maintain an edge over your competitors. As the market grows and changes, so should you!

It’s important to note that there is a difference between a complete rebrand and a brand refresh. If you are looking to change the entire purpose/look of your business, then a rebrand might be what you need; a refresh, on the other hand, means modernizing your brand to keep it relevant to your customer base.

Here are some ways you can update your branding:

1. Make changes to your current logo/design.

  • This could be a small change or a more prominent change. Just make sure the logo/design is still recognizable to consumers.

2. Change your color palette.

  • These changes could be based on what’s trendy, what’s appropriate for or relevant to your industry, or a mix of both.

3. Update your slogan or tagline.

  • Your brand’s mission may have changed as the market has changed. Updating your slogan can draw in new customers while continuing to appeal to your current ones.

4. Update or add to your current marketing materials/products.

  • Introducing new materials and products can widen your brand’s reach. It shows consumers that your business is innovative and current.

Before doing any kind of brand revamp, be sure that you know your audience. Knowing what consumers are currently looking for in a brand is pivotal to the survival and growth of your business; and ultimately, as a business, the goal is to grow! So, creating a brand experience that resonates with consumers will go a long way in helping you reach your goals.

Stay consistent with your new branding, too! But don’t just take it from me – Forbes emphasizes the importance of this, too. However you choose to refresh your brand, make sure that all departments within your business are on the same page and collectively moving toward the same goal.

So, whether you make one or all these changes, they are likely to help your brand grow. Incorporating these brand changes while keeping up to date on what consumers are looking for in a brand can be sure to give you that fresh look to boost your brand recognition this new year!
