Start preparing for longer than normal delays this holiday season!

It is summer 2021, and your mind is most likely on a beach somewhere in the Bahamas. The holidays are far, far away as the weather is just starting to heat up, and planning for the gift season is typically not even thought about until the end of summer or fall. However, if you have noticed stock issues or price increases when ordering marketing collateral, you should be aware of the reasons why and plan now for the incoming holiday rush.

During the height of the pandemic, as events came to a screeching halt, the investment in promotional giveaways and marketing materials did as well. Now that we have crossed that bridge and things are opening back up, the demand for branded materials is coming back in full swing. Not only is the demand high, but the cost of raw materials has also risen in addition to importing issues. Longer production times and suspended rush services have become more common as companies are trying their best to hire employees after the shutdown. Additionally, delays at the ports are not easing up, so the turnaround time increases by weeks. Remember, when something is estimated to arrive in stock, you must account for the time it takes to unload the inventory, check for quality control, and then process and decorate the orders.

With this being said, there is no doubt that knowledge is power, and we are resilient. The holiday rush this year is going to be more of a challenge than in years past. It is imperative to be aware of the coming challenges and not only strategize with your team, but to act early to avoid stock issues, longer lead times, and of course, decrease holiday stress. Placing a last-minute rush order may be next to impossible this year. Our team is here to help, and our goal is to inform and help you navigate the waters so that you can make the best decisions for your company. So, make your list, check it twice, and get your orders placed so you can enjoy the season!
