Running contests on your social media platforms is a great way to boost engagement, gain new followers, expand brand awareness and increase leads. Check out some of the contest ideas below to take your social media game to the next level. 

“Caption This” Contest 

Best for Facebook and/or Instagram, post a photo, video, or reel and ask followers to come up with a creative caption and post it in the comments to be entered to win. 

Video Submission 

Ask followers to submit a video that fits the theme of your contest. Have people vote for the winner, choose your favorite, or pick randomly. 

Submit a Photo/Video of How You Use the Product/Service 

  • Submit a video (TikTok) 
  • Tag us in a photo (Instagram) 
  • Comment a photo/share a photo to our page (Facebook) 

Create a Hashtag 

This is a great one for Twitter. Ask followers to enter your contest by coming up with a unique hashtag (this could be for your brand, a provided photo, a new product, a service, etc.) 

Retweet, Like & Follow to Enter 

Another one for Twitter. Have followers like your contest post, retweet it, and follow your account to enter to win. 

Tag a Friend 

Ask followers to tag a friend (or two or three) in the comments of your contest post. This is a great way to gain followers! This works best For Instagram.

Follow to Win 

This one is pretty self-explanatory. New followers will be entered for a chance to win your contest! 

Cross-Platform 

Ask followers to enter by completing a task across two or more of your social media accounts.  

For example: 

  • Like this post on FB and IG and follow on both platforms 
  • Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram 
  • Share this post to your Facebook and Instagram stories 

Sign-Up Contests 

Example: Sign up on our website to receive our newsletter in exchange for a limited time deal/percent off/chance to win a free product or service
