In this new landscape of the digital age, where AI is becoming increasingly popular and seemingly taking over, our role as graphic designers is evolving.  How do we compete with something that seems to have all the answers in seconds? Simple. We work with it. We embrace it. Though AI can’t replace our human intuition or emotion, it’s a highly effective tool to implement in our daily lives to help streamline workflow, enhance creativity, and improve productivity.

Below are some programs or websites that AI can use in our graphic design world.

ChatGPT

The sky is the limit with ChatGPT. From content creation to helping formulate an email, rewording content, brainstorming new campaigns, coming up with ideas for a company tagline, or answering questions, ChatGPT helps you to be efficient and organized even in your worst creative block.

Adobe Firefly

Adobe’s web-based generative AI program allows you to create images based on a text prompt. Apart from your description, you can choose from various art styles, compositions, effects, lighting, etc., to help create an imaginative or simple image.

Uizard

If you’re in the web/app design field, this one is for you! This tool transforms your hand-drawn sketches into digital prototypes without delving into complex design software. Additionally, there are many design templates, lots of drag-and-drop components to help edit designs, a text-to-image generator, and a theme generator.

Let’s Enhance

This tool is powerful when it comes to image enhancement. Often, images are too small with little resolution to print without blurriness or pixelation at the size you want. This technology helps upscale photos without losing quality to 16 times their original size. It can even enhance details, textures, and edges.

Remove.bg

This is one of the best AI tools for removing backgrounds from images without having to do it yourself. It saves tons of time and hassle if you don’t have programs like Photoshop.

Fontjoy

This AI-powered website analyzes thousands of different fonts to find complementary pairings that mesh seamlessly and enhance visual appeal. Choosing the appropriate font pairings can take hours, but implementing this tool can help reduce that time. Best yet, it’s completely free to use!

The Wrap Up
Though being a graphic designer in the AI age can be a little daunting, it’s also exciting to learn and implement new technology that will help us grow as well as become more efficient. Using these tools can improve our productivity and help curate amazing content and graphics for clients that may have been out of reach before AI came to town.
